Session 1
Leading Diverse Teams: Identity + Its Influence in Managing Difficult Conversations
Managing for equity requires a sophisticated awareness of communication strategies and management skills. Are you a manager and felt stuck when you've needed to have a tough conversation with someone on your team? Have you been reflecting on how your own identity or the identities of those on your team impact your work? This in-person workshop is for you. Come learn about how to manage difficult conversations with confidence and how to better incorporate a DEI lens in your management and supervision toolkit.
Session 2
Leading Diverse Teams: Trust Building, Maintaining, & Repairing
Trust is essential for the long-term success and collaboration of teams. But how do we build real and lasting trust with our team members? How do we rebuild and repair trust that has been broken? This in-person workshop will offer practical and realistic techniques to establish strong, trust-based relationships within your team. Through interactive exercises, you will be equipped with the necessary skills to lead effectively and inclusively while building, rebuilding, and maintaining trust within your orgainzation.

Liz
Kahn Consultants Group
Liz is driven by her passion for helping leaders become the managers that people want to work for and teams people want to be a part of. After receiving a B.S. and M.Ed from Vanderbilt University, she spent the next 12+ years as a senior leader in nonprofit and government. She led dynamic teams, managed city-wide efforts with the largest school district in the country and directed projects at a national scale. She discovered her knack for cultivating leaders and developing agile, effective teams. Now as a dedicated coach and consultant, she brings years of leadership experience and speciality training as a Certified CliftonStrengths Coach and Facilitator of the Immunity to Change coaching process out of Harvard University to support each leader and team with which she’s fortunate to partner. She has successfully coached and trained leaders across sectors ranging from those at notable tech companies to New York’s largest nonprofits. As a seasoned coach, group trainer, and retreat facilitator she equips leaders and teams with the mindsets, behaviors, and skills to maximize their potential.
Courtney Camacho (she/her) is a nonprofit consultant and DEIJ (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Justice) leader based in Brooklyn, NY. As a consultant, she provides personalized coaching to nonprofit leaders, guiding them through periods of change and helping them assess social impact. Courtney has co-facilitated previous workshops on navigating difficult conversations and leading diverse teams at the Partnership for Afterschool Education (PASE). She also served as Co-Chair of the Racial Equity Steering Committee at Cypress Hills Local Development Corporation, where she developed racial equity strategies and training curricula. Her extensive experience includes roles as Senior Manager and Division Director at Cypress Hills Local Development Corporation, leading college access programs and engaging communities in equity-related issues. Courtney holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Bloomsburg University and a Master of Education in School Counseling with a Bilingual Extension from St. John’s University. An advocate for racial equity and social justice, Courtney integrates DEIJ principles into strategic planning and organizational culture. Her dedication to fostering inclusive environments is evident in her professional and community work.
